Giving

Our vision for the Diocese of Qu’Appelle is for us all to seek God with all our hearts knowing that God will be found.
SECTIONS

Thank you for considering a donation to the congregations, parishes, and the Diocese of Qu’Appelle.

Our values:

Community – being part of the body of Christ we understand the connectedness of all creation. Our work in the Diocese is to support and resource the efforts of parishes as they connect to the wider community demonstrating the kingdom of God

Reconciliation - it is important that our work seeks every opportunity to reconcile with those around us. All that we endeavor to do in building up the body of Christ is carried out in a space of grace, holding each other’s best interests before our own.

Transparency - it is important that information about the why, what and how we carry out our work in the Diocese is accessible and clear. We encourage questions from your community to which we will respond with honesty and sincerity.

Collaboration - it is prideful to think that we can do ministry alone. An attitude of benevolence and grace as we work together is needed for our effort to bear fruit.

Repentance – we are very aware of our past and present failings as an Anglican Diocese. In our work, we will constantly strive to be more Christ-like. In repentance we seek God’s grace and guidance to transform us.

Our Vision:

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.” Jeremiah 29:11-14 NRSV

Our vision for the Diocese of Qu’Appelle is for us all to seek God with all our hearts knowing that God will be found.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to equip, support, and encourage our communities to become more Christ-like by:

  • Community-building through encouragement and support of relationship building and connectedness to Christ and to one another.
  • Teaching of holy scripture and offering both clergy and lay people opportunities for discerning and carrying out ministry and mission
  • Enabling God’s people in their communities to worship in the Anglican tradition; learn, grow in their faith and share the Gospel through Diocesan-led initiatives.
  • Administration of Diocesan property and property held in trust for our community.

We have created strategic goals as part of our mission and we commit to continually evaluate both whether our goals are relevant and how effective we have been in reaching them.

Your financial support of the Diocese of Qu’Appelle means that you are there with us on the front lines, equipping, supporting and encouraging our congregational families to seek the Lord through worship, fellowship, community outreach and stewardship.

We know that your donation reflects your passion and commitment to our mission to seek the Lord, knowing that He will be found in our midst. We are grateful that you are joining us in our work.

Established in 1884, the diocese now consists of 41 congregations worshipping in 26 parishes.

As an Anglican denomination we work ecumenically in this effort, we enjoy learning from other Christian faith groups, knowing that in servicing our congregations we are all serving one God.

Legacy or Planned Gifts - Will Power

Legacy or Planned Gifts enable you to give for years to come. There are several ways you can do this.

Bequests

The most common way is through a direction in your will that designates the Diocese of Qu’Appelle as a beneficiary of your estate to receive a specific amount or a percentage of the residue of your estate. To help you consider this as an option the Diocese of Qu’Appelle is a partner with Will Power, a Canada-wide public education campaign designed to inspire Canadians to think differently about charitable giving and to empower them to create positive change through their wills. Planned Gifts

You can also give through life insurance in which the Diocese is named as a beneficiary, through gifts of RRSPs or RRIFs in which the Diocese is named as a beneficiary, through a gift of stocks or mutual funds or through a charitable annuity. Your financial advisor, estate planner or lawyer can provide information on legacy giving and how giving this way may provide financial and tax benefits to you and your estate.

Your giving reflects who you are and how you want the world to be. A donation or bequest might be directed to a ministry you cherish. You might fund a justice initiative, an educational venture or an outreach project you know will make a difference to future generations. You can also donate asking the Diocese to determine the area of greatest need and thereby provide financial resources for present and future ministry. However you choose to give or however you direct your bequest, thank you for generously giving in a way that reflects your faith, hope and love!
